With the array of golf courses to choose from come many golf resorts. These range from ultra-luxurious properties with state-of-the-art facilities to resorts that’ll steal or waste so much of your hard-earned money that they should actually be featured on the crime channel.

To ensure that your next Florida golf trip runs smoothly, you don’t want to end up at the latter. So, here’s a look at which resorts you should definitely visit, and those you should definitely not.

Worst Golf Resorts in Florida

1. Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club by Hilton

Mystic Dunes by Hilton has a 4.2-star Google rating and 4.0 stars on TripAdvisor, so you may be wondering why this premier destination is the first to feature in a list of the worst golf resorts in Florida.

Unfortunately, the users on Yelp do not agree with the resort’s high ratings as its overall ratings on this platform is a mere 3 stars. According to previous visitors, this resort features run-down rooms, paper-thin walls, and loud plumbing that lets you know when your upstairs neighbor flushes the toilet.

2. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs® Area

Once again, this Hilton golf resort seems to please Google and TripAdvisor guests while those on Yelp are experiencing something completely different. With 4.0 stars on TripAdvisor and only 3.0 stars on Yelp, this resort stirs up some mixed emotions and uncertainty.

However, according to those who had an unpleasant stay at the resort it lacks a modern touch, fresh air in the rooms, plumbing and electrical maintenance, and daily housekeeping.

3. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is home to The Links Golf Club, the Baytowne Golf Club, the Raven Golf Club, and the Burnt Pine Golf Club, which each boast with a good rating ranging from 3.8 to 5.0 stars on Golf Pass. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the resort itself, as users have found it to be worth no more than 2.4 stars.

The majority of the reviewers claim that they received at the resort only to find that the room they booked doesn’t even closely resemble what they advertise on their website.

4. Chateau Mar Golf Resort

The Chateau Mar Golf Resort Trademark Collection by Wyndham only has 3.9 stars on Google and 3.5 on TripAdvisor, which partly gives away the quality that you can expect. However, the 2.1 stars on Yelp should be enough to completely sway your decision if you were contemplating a stay at the resort.

From the reviews, we could gather that the plumbing was faulty, the rooms were cluttered and not very tasteful, the surrounding neighborhood was crawling with thugs, and get this: there’s no on-site golf course! That’s right, despite the deceptive name, the ‘golf’ they refer to is across the Middle River, at Inverrary Golf Club.

5. Grand Palms Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort

According to Google, the Grand Palms Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort is worthy of 3.4 stars, while the users on TripAdvisor feel that 2.5 stars is in order. On Yelp, users were utterly dissatisfied for the stay their money got them, resulting in an overall score of 1.4.

One user claimed that the internet only works for 5 minutes every hour, while some of the other reviewers were disgusted with the cockroaches, bad smells, and rusty bathtubs in their rooms. Not to mention the lack of soundproofing as the highway is very close and very loud.
